Often people come to me and say 'look we aren't the most photogenic people but we really would love to capture this time in our lives'. Or, 'we just feel uncomfortable in front of the camera but have no family photos'. And, I am here to tell you that it's ok. Relax and breathe. Together we can meet up and just hang out for an hour or so. Doing what you do when no-one is watching.
This beautiful family was one of those. They have lots of photo's on their iPhones as we all do and not so many of all three of them together. It is so normal this day and age as one of us is always behind the camera. With their family growing to welcome baby no 2 very soon, Leigh and Graham wanted some memories that they could treasure. This is how it went down.
I turned up and was warmly welcomed by these guys. Having never met in person we had a brief little chat and I asked for a tour of their home so I could pick out some beautiful pockets of light and places where they could snuggle. I then asked them what a typical Sunday is like. We chatted throughout and they told me all of those special, ordinary things that a lot of families do together. Reading, coffee, snuggles, music, dancing, playing, tickling and bath time.
So, that's exactly what they did. Just went about like it was lazy Sunday morning and I followed them quietly snapping away in the background. The end result was just beautiful. That day we told a story. Their story. One they will treasure for a lifetime. Once again, I thank you all who have let me on these little windows of time in your lives......
